Art Museum

The museum was created in February 27, 1992 by order of the Department of Culture of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. The exposition area is 700 m2. On display are collections of Russian and European porcelain and faience from the 18th and early 20th centuries, embroidery by Belarusian craftsmen from the first half of the 19th century and crockery from the Naliboksk and Urech factories of the 18th century. Exhibited works by famous Russian artists: Nikolai Sverchkov, Ivan Kramskoi, Arkhip Kuindzhi, Isaac Levitan, Vasily Perov, Ivan Shishkin, Ilya Repin and others. Paintings by Belarusian artists and artists who worked in Belarus: Vitold Byalynitsky-Birulya, Sergei Zaryanka, Jan Chrucki and others; representatives of the Vitebsk art school: Yuri Pen, Zair Azgur, Abram Brazer, Solomon Gershov, Lev Leitman, Yefim Minin, Alexander Romm, Lazar Ran, Solomon Yudovin, David Yakerson; contemporary artists from Vitebsk, Belarus, Russia and other countries. The museum organizes exhibitions, meetings with artists, sculptors, masters of arts and crafts. There is also a children's art studio at the museum and a restoration workshop.
